Wiring an Auxillary Electric Heater

Looking at trying to get an auxiliary all electric heater to keep my topper a little warmer for the critters in the winter.  Don’t expect it to be hot but just raise it maybe 10 degrees.  Don’t want any gas type heaters as they might tip over.  Got a 170 amp alternator on my 2020 custom trail boss 5.3.  Thinking about getting this one and using 6 gauge GXL to run under the frame and up between the cap and bed for the mount.  Use maybe four hours twice a month in the winter while the trucks running.

Anybody see any problems I might run into or is it too much of a draw?

50 amps is a lot for a constant draw but it should handle it ok as long as you dont do extended idling. you should install a relay for the switch under the hood and a circuit breaker. the alternator will get a work out for sure. have you considered a bus heater?
