Install charges on F*&d keys?

Hey guys, what should I expect to pay for the install of my F*&d keys to level out my 02 Sierra half ton? With alignment the local shop, which is known for a lofty charge to it's customers, wants to charge me $150 in stalled and aligned. What do you think?

I don't think that sounds bad at all. I figure $60 alone for the alignment and the rest for labor. If it took them 2 hours to install thats only $45 an hour. Not sure where your from (salt on roads) or how long the trucks been on the road but I changed the keys on a friends 2000 Silverado last spring and thought I'd never get the old keys off. If your mechaniclly inclined at all you could do them yourself. Just don't drive to far after without the alignment. Good Luck

If you have the tools, or a friend has them, I'd try to do it yourself, if you feel comfortable doing it.

Me and a friend put them on his truck, and it honestly took longer to get the truck jacked up and then doing adjustments on them to get the height that he wanted, than it did to actualy change out the parts.

Does tht $150 include the alignment?

if so, that's probably not bad.

But in all seriousness though, if you have the tools yourself, it's only about a 30 minute job to do....pretty easy stuff.

live in Maine, didn't want t odeal with the headache so took it to a local shop. $80.00 out the door, not including an alignment. to me, it was worth every penny.

Where abouts. I'm in the Sebago lake are? BTW if you paid $80 to change the keys and the alignment will cost $60 thats $140 so pretty close to what has been mentioned.

How much lift did you get out of the ford keys? Did it really hurt the ride of the truck? Just curious. I dont want to get a huge lift kit. I just want a few inches and dont want to spend too much. Thanks.

I got over 3" in the front with the keys and almost 2

' in the rear with the add a leaf. I like the ride better now. Was a little stiff st first but seems to have softened a bit. I didn't like the cushy factory ride at all.

Was just wondering were to find the ford keys at and what kind of price I should be paying for them? Also how hard is it to enstall them?

My friend bought them at the local ford dealer for $50 for the pair.

It was pretty easy to install them. We used a 2 jaw gear puller to take the tension off the bars. It literally took us longer to make final adjustments to the height that he wanted than it did to swap the keys out.

I paid $40 for the pair at the local dealer. I guess I will go ahead and eat the cost of the install, it seems like they are in the ballpark, with alignment. I am itching to level this rig out.

worktruck, in Skowhegan. I've NEVER paid $60.00 for an alignment in my life! Around here ( skowhegan, waterville area) everybody has them for $29.95. But anyways you are correct, it still is close.

Just got it aligned at a cost of $49, guess that's the cost of living in the big city.
