‘20 Tahoe Fuel gauge not all the way over

Recommended Posts

My wife’s 20 Tahoe (just turned 2 years old) has been having an issue where she it’s filled up, the fuel gauge doesn’t go all the way to full. It kinda hangs out near it,, when the tank is totally topped off. Then the next day will go all the way to full on the gauge. Anyone else have anything like that?  Would this be a fuel sending unit issue?

Any help appreciated

Still under warranty?  That's probably the easiest.

Hard to tell what's going on without looking into the tank and seeing what the float is doing.  Generally, just a rheostat, which the contact area "may" be worn, but unlikely.

Here's a pic of what the rheostat looks like:  https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1438365-sending-unit-repair-success.html
