Hello Folks,

First time user here and soon to be first time owner of a GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation.

Two questions I'm hoping people might have advice on:

1. I plan to level the truck and there are two options: An aftermarket kit for $800 that voids some of the warranty; or the factory levelling kit used for the AT4 (I believe) that is $2,600. Any advice on which is the most practical option? Any experience levelling 2020-21 Elevations?

2. With a 2" level, what do you think is the maximum tire size for an 18" rim? I was thinking 265/70R18 (for an Open Country) but wondering if people know of good tires with a bit more height that will fit in the wheel wells?

Thanks,

Thanks,

You’re only going to void something that breaks due to the level, which really shouldn’t be anything. I’ve run levels on alL my gm trucks and usually it’s way out of warranty before

fixing ball joints and stuff. Id save the money, fix what breaks. You’re going to be ahead. As for tires, anything up to 34” in height you should be fine on stock rims. I’ve heard some running 35’s but that may only be the Silverado’s. These trucks come stock with 33’s in some cases such as mine.

A billions posts about this so the search feature is your friend.  BTW, factory tire size on 18's is larger than 265/70/18.  35" and smaller will fit on factory 18" wheels.

Elevation comes with 275/60R20, a 33 inch tire.  265/70R18 are smaller diameter than stock, 32.6".  You could run a 275/70R18 all day long to keep your speedo unchanged unless you wanted to go bigger.

The GM kit isn't a level, its a 2 inch lift, same parts in the AT4/Trail Boss.
