2019 and Up, New Body Style Aftermarket Head Unit Replacement?

Has anyone switched the Head Unit on a New body style GM truck yet?

Crutchfield recommends against it but I have heard from other sources that it can be done.

There is only one mounting kit available, that i know of.

This is only compatible with 2 radios on the planet.

 

Pioneer DMH-C2550NEX and DMH-C2500NEX. They have been "backordered" for well over a year now. 

 

I have not found anything else yet.

 

Personally, I've had issues witht he stock radio, and doing a decent sized build I didnt want those problems to follow. So I opted to mount a radio in my centre console to control it all and just bypass the favtory. Figured id still use it for gps and backup cam.

Hey thanks! Yes I've seen that mounting kit and Pioneer HUs. They look interesting and I wouldn't mind trying one of them. But I wonder how you mount the body of the head unit? Like do you remove the factory radio unit under the glove box and replace it with the Pioneer? Then are there any issues with the rest of the electronics in the truck, or any Check Engine lights?

 

But my 7" IOR Factory Head Unit acts up occasionally. The volume goes up drastically on its own, and every once and a while, the touch screen buttons won't work. The remedy I found for the second problem is to shut off the Ignition to the truck for a few minutes.
