I'm going to rebuild the front-end on my '03 S10 in a couple weeks. I'm replacing EVERYTHING. It tends to "wander" down the road pretty badly.

The window sticker (it was still in the glove box when I bought the truck) says it is equipped with an "Increased Capacity Suspension".

This doesn't sound like the same thing as a Heavy Duty suspension, is it?

Should I order regular, constant rate springs or heavy duty springs? Does it actually matter?

Ken,

I haven't checked but GMpartsdirect.com might have a part number then you could check rockauto.com to cross reference. I am not too familiar with suspension packages on s10's.

Well I finished rebuilding the front end Thursday morning, got it aligned yesterday. Rides much better but haven't had it out on the freeway yet, that will be the real test. I looked up the part number on the GM Parts website and then bought a set of Moog springs from Rockauto. I swear the front is sitting higher than the back now, I've almost got the Carolina Squat thing goin' on. I replaced everything but the pitman arm. I was amazed how worn out everything was after 114000 miles.

 

Next on the to-do list is a full coat of bedliner. Monstaliner appears to be back in business. I'm going to to the body in medium quartz gray & the bed, grill, and vent panels in front of the windshield in black. I'm thinking about getting a set of Moon discs for the wheels.
