Where to find the black illuminated emblem

Iv been trying to find the black GMC illuminated emblem. Iv seen that most places it is backordered. I received an email from GM Parts Direct after I placed my order it was canceled a few days later. The email said this:

 

Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, GM has cancelled your order after initially accepting it. The part is involved in some aspect of a recall investigation and GM is not allowing the sale of the part at this time. I apologize that we are not able to provide it for you. Please check back in a few weeks for updated availability.

I'm curious what the recall investigation is about.

Did you check with your local dealership? That's where I bought mine.

No I haven't. Even a lot of the ones on EBay aren't in the sellers posession. Iv messaged a few sellers and they say they are special ordered and that it is backordered even though they list it as "last one" or "3 available".

Im looking for non-multi pro tailgate. Still haven't got one yet.
