Hidden Winch in a Stock Bumper

You can also purchase the winch mount plate from other kits.  I bought mine from a Fab Fours kit if I remember correctly, drilled two holes, did a little grinding, and it mounted up perfectly.

 

 

 

I ordered, and received, extended control box cables from a company in Canada but I haven't wired it up yet since I've been too busy with work.  I'm very curious to see how you wired yours up, as I plan on using  perko switch for mine.

 

Great job and keep the photos coming!  Way to take the initiative and get it done!

Sorry, I don't. 

 

I called up FabFours and requested the winch tray for one of their bumper kits (I don't remember which) as well as the fastener kit(bolts and washers), and they shipped it out to me.

Finally got around to wiring the winch into the cab. I just spliced into the wiring in the solenoid box and added a couple of grommets as shown in the picture. The arm switch for the winch is the switch for my amber fog lights since I ran out of switches and figured that I'd have those on while winching anyways. This let me keep the option to plug in the normal remote and run the winch outside the truck as well.

The original mount was a little weaker than anticipated so I went ahead and added some new supports. Fairlead is much stiffer now.
