Tire Size

Some people are running as big as 305/70/R16 on the factory rims, but I think that is way to much tire for a 6.5" wide wheel. I have seen quite a few with 285/75/R16 as well. These to I think are to wide for the factory wheel, but again a lot of people run them and don't seem to have any bad tire wear problems. I have heard that some trimming may be required of the front air dam and inner plastic fender to make these fit. Maybe cranking up on the torsion bars a bit as well. If you looks at most tire websites they tell you what rims size to use with the diffferent size tires some 265/75/R16 may workon a 6.5" rim by some manufactuers specs, but I don't think that I have seen any. I personally would not go bigger than a 265/75/R16 on the factory rim, but that is just me. Like I said there are people out there running the other sizes stated above. Hope this helps...

285's on 03 sierra as well. Had to turn the torsion bars and trim the plastic skirt under the bumper at an inside corner. Not a single problem though.
