2014 sierra 1500 starter

14sierra 1500 cc slt driving down road whole truck shut down for about 1second nothing on dash no radio no engine just shut down then kicked back on but kinda sluggish then smelled a fried electric smell or something then truck started running fine again. Since i was only about half a mile from my house i turned around and went home to check it out. I got out of the truck and could hear what i thought was a pulley going out so i turned truck off for a better look, i did not see anything off but could smell the burnt smell so i tried to start it up and she had power but no crank nothing. So first thought was starter so i proceed to go to multiple parts stores to find out my truck dont take the same starter that everyplace has in stock for that year. I finally found the right starter and install it and bam truck fires up runs great till next day when i start to feel the sluggish feel again then the smell, the truck didnt shut down and start back up this time but did everything else. Now i cannot find another starter for my truck, anybody have any clue why my truck seems to need a starter that doesnt exist in the state of ohio nor have i found it on ebay motors or anywhere else. HEEEELLLLPPPP MEEEEEEEE! Also i changed starter relay and ignition switch assuming that is what made the starters fry. Any suggestions on all this would be great. Also new to group so if this was already discussed please let me know i tried to search it but couldnt find it. Thanks yall

I would start by checking grounds under the hood.  Supposedly it’s a common problem w these trucks causing random electrical issues.

If the starter breaks after a short while again, and you have a electrical smell, then it's often the starter gear that does not retract. The reason for that is often a stuck ignition switch. Is your ignition key feeling "weird"? Like very easy or very hard to turn?
