The ultimate torture

It is early Saturday morning. I drive by the local Home Depot to pick some storm window stuff and across the freeway is my local GM dealer.

Imagine my bug-eyed look when I saw on the front row of said dealer a shiny black SSR and a yellow Corvette.

I gave up on Home Depot, crossed the freeway and was blown away by the SSR. I got close to that thing. It honestly is not given justice by any photos or videos. It is so beautiful that it looks like a concept vehicle. The sales_droid opened it up and let me sit in it. He cranked it up. Oh, the memories of my youth!!!! The idle burble exhaust note was pure killer.

Everything was beautiful. I remember when I was a kid, I would stare at a car which I liked for hours. I felt that way about this one. It has been decades since a vehicle has had that effect on me.

Oh, yeah. The Corvette. Hmmm. I dunno. It was yellow.

Naw, not on my salary... The mid-30s are as high as I can do anything (my '03 Silverado that I have now). This SSR is $53k.

Drooling is free, though.

I sat in a shiny red one a couple of weeks ago....Very nice fit and finish...Up there with the Vette IMO.

One thing I did notice was the size. It's a LOT bigger than what I was expecting. Tall doors.

Just an observation.

But yeah...Great looking car.

I know this guy at school. LAst week, he and dad went to go get their SSR. Monday, when we come back to school, they said they liked it so much, that over the weekend they bought another one!!!!!

The family owns a very successful body shop.

Sound like some people I know, but they own Whataburgers and one SSR, but have a sweet nomad on a c5 chassis to make up for it.
