Hi Folks hope everyone is doing well.

My truck is a 2019 LT 5.3 2wd 8speed. (36k Miles)

It has developed this sound in the last few months, it is a (high pitch) click sound similar to if you got a screw driver and tapped it against metal.

I put my ear on the actual drive shaft and seems like its coming from inside closes to the ujoint, i dont know the inner construction of the drive shaft but perhaps the sound could be coming from the ujoint and just resonating out the end of the driveshaft.

Where: The sound is at the back portion of the drive shaft.

When: It happens when you release pressure from the ujoint it seems.

  • When you let off the gas after acceleration
  • When you shift from Drive to Neutral
  • Always happens during these conditions. sometimes its a single click, often is double click.

Has anyone had this issue and resolved it?
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice.

Thank You!
