Nice cars, can't wait for the CTS-V to hit the streets :sigh:

One question about the SRX - why the hell does the press insist on calling it an SUV :seeya::jester:

It's a nice wagon. My father and I did a 24 hour test drive on it. That 32V Northstar really honks, it sounds great and runs strong. I think that is one of the defining attributes of the SRX. It also handles very well.

That said, it is NOT an SUV, it's a d**n nice wagon. Deal with it.

Call it the CTS station wagon and GM will be very endeared to you. (not) I think something that should be tested is how well the CTS does as a truck. How does it do hauling things from Home Depot? Could you occasionally use it like a Tahoe?

Sorry, the SRX doesn't have the side profile, ground clearance, or tow rating of a full blown SUV. It's a wagon and that's not a bad thing, though the name 'wagon' has a negative connotation associated with it.

Manufs won't use the term wagon - the new one is 'cross-over vehicle'

Last week my coworker had his new (04 2500 with 700 miles on it) fry the front differential. The owner of the dealership felt so bad that he let him have a SRV for a loner. He drove it to work and when we went to lunch he let me have a spin...wow!! Talk about nice and a quick mover...wow! And the stereo was fantastic...but that $53,000 price tag was enough to negate my fears that my wife might someday drive one of these. Very nice vehicle that had a very powerful V8 and got up and went but too pricey.
