Suspensionlifts.com Sucks

Recommended Posts

Here we go!  In July I purchased Fox 2.5 coil overs and 2.5 piggy back shocks from bilsteinlifts.com now suspensionlifts.com.  I wasn't planning on purchasing the ones with the DSC adjusters but they had them on sale and these were literally the only ones I could find in stock anywhere so I decided to pull the trigger.  I purchased these and received them about 2 weeks later and put them on my work bench to put on once my Icons got up to a little more mileage.  In October I went to put these on and after getting the passenger side installed and having gobs of trouble getting the driver side in I realized upon speaking with Fox tech support that suspension lifts had sent me the wrong part.  While for the right vehicle it was not for the control arms that I had.  The mounting pin for the lower UCA's had the shock centered instead of offset and for the type of control arms I have I need the offset pin.  Well after uninstalling the passenger side which then I realized was rubbing the CV axle (glad I didn't drive anywhere) I reinstalled my Icons.  So after realizing the parts were not correct... which how was I supposed to know since I was trusting the company who I had ordered it from to send me the right part number and the fitment was so close that I couldn't tell until I went to install the drivers side, I reached out to suspensionlifts.com to see if they would work with me and either exchange the part or return it since they had sent me the wrong part.  I couldn't get anyone on the phone except once they called me back and it was some foreigner who probably isn't even located in the US, they would only reply via text.  I went back and forth with them about the return and finally they agreed through text to return the product if I paid to ship it back.  I let them know there were some minor scuffs on the parts due to installation but they said if I cleaned them up and removed any grease they would return the product.  No where was a 15% restocking fee mentioned and they had agreed to take them back.  I shipped them and had to follow up for about 3 weeks before they finally got back with me and said they reviewed the product and that they wouldn't accept the return because of the scuff and minor scratches that I had already mentioned and they had agreed to return the product due to the situation.  After arguing back and forth they gave me the option to ship them back to me at my own expense.  I pleaded with them to at least return them to me free of charge.  They agreed.  Finally upon following up for another 3-4 weeks they let me know that the part couldn't be found so they agreed to a refund.  Again, no where was a 15% restocking fee mentioned.  After following up for another 2 weeks they finally keyed the refund and it was the $2200ish minus 15% for a restocking fee.  When I texted them to understand why the refund was so low they told me that there was a 15% restocking fee.  I asked why am I paying a restocking fee when we had come to an agreement that they would return the parts to me and the only reason that they had to refund me was because they lost my parts at their distribution center?  They responded with oh well its in our return agreement on the website.  Funny thing is the website I purchased them from (bilsteinlifts.com) is no longer around and their new website (suspensionlifts.com) was not the website I had purchased them from.  Long story short I typically buy from locally owned shops instead of big discounts sites like this and the only reason I did was because literally no one else had the parts I needed in stock.  I will never be purchasing from a company where I cannot speak to an American citizen on the phone again.  This was a horrible experience and I was basically robbed of my hard earned money.  Usually I do not put posts out trying to tear a company down even if the experience wasn't great but in this scenario I wanted to warn my fellow truck enthusiasts.  This company is run by crooks and is absolutely horrible to work with.  Make sure to purchase from a shop where you can speak to people who understand the parts they are shipping out and will work with you in a tricky situation like mine.
