Service Air Bag on my DIC

Recommended Posts

Service Air Bag showed up on my DIC

I have a 2006 Chevy silverado 3500 4x4

Duramax with 320000 miles on it, this is the first time I ever seen it since I bought it brand new in late 2006 it is the LBZ motor. I have changed the front sensor yesterday but I’m still getting to the code. What’s next

The engine has nothing to do with the airbag system, but good connections to ground and wiring harnesses affect the computer system. Clean all your grounds, check the wiring harness connectors and disconnect the battery for a couple minutes to hopefully reset the codes.

Do you have any kind of electronic system manual for that truck? I'd suggest a discounted one year subscription to AllData. Look around on the web and you'll find discount coupons.

Or, you could just take it to a good mechanic. Just changing out parts won't get you anywhere.

Maybe post what specific code you get for the airbag (SRS) system?

I have an 07 2500HD, recently had the Service Air Bag light: Dealer said Code b1000 per #pit4872b, after detecting low voltage. Does this sound like a ground or corrosion on the conenctor at the air bag module under the drivers seat.  The recall air bag was completed and the code did not go away.

FYI, the truck just recently started experiencing a battery drain that I am trying to track down also.
