Well I thought the 2021 Tahoe was going to be great and its not.  11k miles an the second time to the dealer for weeks on end for bend push rods etc. due to the dfm/afm system. I am considering dumping it because w/o a upgraded fix its pre=ordained to happen again. The excuse from the dealer is GM only pays for what's wrong when in actuality both sides should have been repaired. They say it's covered on the balance on your warranty, well I bought this new Covid kept me closer to home. A 3yr warranty will be coming up fast. This truck has all the bells and whistles that are now not available, no wonder why the Kelly Blue Book people are jumping at the chance to get it.

I've seen there are numerous lawsuits around the country in fact GM is settling one at the moment.  I've heard some models are coming with the system disabled? Is this true will 23's or 24's be available w/o this. A replacement fix is available but it's a big job to change out the cam and will be expensive.  How do you know if its a problem, think pots and pans banging together, the info centers go crazy, check engine light go on .  Should I stay or should I go....

While under warranty you could get extended warranty much cheaper. Or if used vehicle prices are still crazy high. You could get a new one without much out of pocket. I wouldn’t keep it without warranty.

Well today they gave me a rental...they can't get the parts. Funny how they would like to buy it. Seriously this sucks when you look around dealers have lots of low mileage ones. I mean low how does that suddenly happen.  I actually told them the dealer advisory said to do both side of the new vehicles coming in before they were sold. Why not mine. I'm worried about the cam being compromised after multiple bend push roads, I haven't called GM yet I have a neighbor who is connected. I was told to tell them I wanted a new crate engine or a full extended warranty. I paid cash for this truck and didn't plan on replacing it for several years.

Engine is covered under 5yr/60k powertrain.

Factory disabled DFM was only on Silverado/Sierra and its not so much a thing anymore because the semiconductor shortage eased up and they've added DFM back on the 5.3 in the pickups.
