Help w/ EXHAUST

hey yall, i am the proud new papa of a '04 silverado 1500. i would like you guys' opinions on a muffler to buy. i'm looking for a single inlet/dual outlet w/ a really deep tone, but nothing too obnoxiously loud. any info. would be appreciated. soem of my friends have the delta 40, but i'd like to get something different than them. but if you think the delta 40 is the best, i guess that's what ill get.

Hey man, congrats on the new ride! As for your question, I've got the regular 40 series (not the Delta) and I love it! But ... it sounds like that may be a little more volume than you're lookin for. Perhaps a 50 series if you still want a Flowmaster. That being said, a buddy just got a Magnaflow and recorded some clips. It sounds really good, imo, but check out this thread and decide for yourself:

Both flowmaster and magnaflow have sound clips on their sites that you can listen to. It just depends what sound you like. Ive had both mangnaflow and flowmaster mufflers on my truck. I like the sound of the flowmaster over the magnaflows, and my truck has more alittle more low end with the flowmaster and the same amount of top end as the magnaflow.

BLK6.0HD--which flowmaster did you have? I am also planning on putting on flowmaster but unsure which to go with. Is the Delta flow worth the extra$

one more question. how would the delta flow 40's sound compare to the magnaflow stainless steel's sound? on the magnaflow website they have sound clips, but they're from fords. so it doesnt give an accurate representation. thanks!

that threat there should give you a good idea.. Im going to have some sound clips of mine put up on here one day.. just gotta get a hold of a video camera... or go buy one

I do think that the delta flow is worth the extra money. For my exhaust im running asm longtubes, no cats, dual 3'' into a x-pipe with 30series top ten mufflers dumped over the rear axle. I dont have any drone at all with this setup. I also have these mufflers on my nova.

I just put a 50 series big block muffler (duel 3" in single 3.5" out) on my truck... not bad, but I wouldn't mind louder!!!

I had a 40 series (3" in and out) DF on my last truck, and it sounded good, there was still resonance in the cab, but I had it dumped at the axle. Before that I had a the origional 40 series (3" in duel 2.5 out), and it sounded good... with duel pipes out the back, it was quiet, then when I chopped them off at the axle it was loud again-which I liked, but it wasn't a lot differant than the DF.
