How do I remove the Body side Molding????

I just got my 2001 Hoe in Fire Red.. And need to dump those ugly black side moldings..

The LS stickers were EASY to get rid of.. But the Side ones look more involved...

Also I think I will kill all the loges on the rear hatch.. Especially the Chevrolet one..

Haven't done any removal myself, but have heard others using hair dryers to heat up the adhesive behind it, then gently pulling it off or working fishing line behind it to break the adhesive loose.

all I did was carefully pull one edge of the molding from the vehicle with my hand and pulled very slowly and they came off nice and easy and didn't leave that much adhesive, it was very easy b/c I have a new truck also and the adhesive wasn't on it very long

it is very simple, although time consuming. Better set aside at least half a day and it's best to do it while it's sunny and warm out. The side moldings are much easier to get off than the emblems. Just start out at one end and start pulling the molding off slowly straight out from the door and toward you. It will very likely leave a bunch of adhesive behind. This is the hard part and time-consuming portion. I used a product called Goo Gone. It is citrus based and will not harm the paint. First though, try and get the larger portions of foam adhesive off. The Goo Gone will not break down the foam, only the adhesive. I used my fingernails and just peeled little bits at a time because it will tear off in little pieces. Once all the larger pieces are gone (and about an hour later) you can start using the Goo Gone and a rag and the gunk will come off pretty easily. If you want to take the emblems off, go to "guides" tab on the lefthand side of the webpage and go to the link that says "removing emblems and trim". It is pretty self-explanatory. Good luck and let us know how sore your hands are the next day!!! LOL

You will need-heat gun (to heat it up)- dental floss (to seperate it from the door when hot)- adhesive remover (to clean up when molding is pulled off). Heat is the biggest factor.
