Brush guard for 08 Silverado

New here so hopefully I’m not doing this to terribly wrong… 

I just bought a 08 Silverado with 60k on it and no rust. I was hoping to get a brush guard on it, but my mechanic warned me not to get something too heavy as he thinks it wears the front end out much quicker. Is there a weight limit you would suggest me to not exceed for guards or a brand/model to look into?

This says front axle weight gross is 3650. No brush guard weighs that much.

For 2WD Crew Cab What model do you have?

I have the 4wd ext cab Lt. looks like I shouldn’t have to worry about it then. Thanks!
