kmdmb Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Traded my 18 GMC for a 24. With the 18 I could sit in my office and start the truck if I slightly pulled the key when I parked the truck. I live in the sticks. Never lock any doors or remove keys. The 24 will not remote start from the second fob or the app if the first fob is in the truck. Which it always is. So basically unless I carry the fob on me all the time I have no remote start with this new truck. And I don't want to carry it around all the time. Just want to use remote start with a fob in the truck. Anybody know a way to do that?
ember1205 Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 I have a couple of ideas you can try... 1. Take one of the fobs and open it up. Remove the battery. This will now be the one you leave in the truck. Place it directly on the area for when the battery is "dead" when you want to start the truck and off you go. Get to where you need to be, move it elsewhere in the truck. By taking it off of the sensor area, with no battery, the truck should not be able to detect its presence inside of the truck. 2. Get a farraday bag and do similar as above except it goes into the bag when you park at home and comes out when you're ready to drive off. Farraday Bag example 1
