Good morning all.   I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 rear wheel drive, 6.0, currently set up with a 4L80e transmission, has approximately 148K in miles.   No obvious issues with the transmission, recently changed the fluid and filter after previously doing a complete flush and fluid change.  A buddy of mine came across a rebuilt 6L80 transmission, zero miles, offering to sell it to me at a great price and will help with the install.  A few questions, if you all could help out:

Will I need a new PCM?

New wiring harness?

Will I need a different drive shaft?

New transmission cooling lines?

Am I stupid trying to fix something currently not broken?

Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Honestly don't even waste your time, it's not worth your headache.

You have to use a standalone controller on the 6L80e, that is the only way it would ever work. The computer in your truck will never control it and you can't put a computer that would control it in your truck either because nothing will talk with each and it's a completely different generation of trucks.
