All - had a oh-sh*t moment this past week and the upper portion of my ('22 1500 non-refresh) multi-pro tailgate got creased/buckled. Has anyone had experience with replacing this portion and the rough cost impact? Will go through a dealer for the work and now it is just if it is claimed under insurance or out of pocket so looking for guidance. Thanks

Just as reference data for others in the future

Situation - have about a 1 inch crease in the top of the multi-pro tailgate where backed into tree with tailgate down.

Net - Paintless Dent Repair guy says cannot repair (challenge is panel is Aluminum). Body shop says $1300+ to move metal, fill it and paint (replacement panel (top portion only) said to be $800 + painting)

Estimate goes up to $2600 if replace the panel

I've seen a couple of just the upper portion on ebay. I can't remember the price though.
