sales people/dealers...

i know most people hate sales people/dealers, but i have come accross quite a few that are pretty good.

(No names will be listed)

at one HUGE local ford dealer the sales people are pretty good.  they do ask you if you are interested in buying, but if you say you are just looking they will let you look without hounding you about how great something is.  they also have a nice showroom with just about everything, base models to loaded models, all unlocked and free to look at.  they even let me explore a new lightning, inside and out.  there is also another ford dealer, this one a little smaller, that has good sales people, they will have a conversation with you without trying to sell you anything.  one other ford dealer is also pretty good, but they are small and don't have very many vehicles on the lot.  the sales people are nice.

the chevy dealer is also pretty good.  the sales people are alright, and they have free food!  they don't always have a good selection though.

the nissan dealer is...well, it depends on when you go.  some of the people their are real a$$es, others are cool.  their selection is OK.

the dodge/jeep dealer has complete a$$es for sales people, but a good selection (mostly jeeps).

the mazda/toyota dealer is OK, they don't bother you too much, but their selection is not too great.

anyone else got opinions on dealers?

Well, the lady that sold us the X-terra wasgreat, she made me feel "at home".

I may find my way back there sometime in the forseeable future (After I turn 18, of course.. )

This particular dealer carries GM, Nissan, and K*A (Don't worry, won't be wandering to that part of the building anytime soon! )

I guess I've seen the gamut, pretty much w/ dealer quality, both in sales and service.  I've dealt w/ some great people and some poor ones, but even though I have gotten down on them, in general, most GM dealers are pretty good, really.

In sales, and service, I just prefer the straight-up ones (who doesn't, I guess) - tell it like it is, look out for it's customers.

I'm sure we've all been down this path before, but you can usually get a gauge of how good a dealer is operated by how it's people deal w/ younger drivers and teenagers who are interested in cars, but can't buy, just looking.

That's my 2 cents.  :D

I don't want to upset any salespeople but I have run across so many of them that don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. So most of the time I will go in the morning on an early weekday when they aren't busy and ask to see the sales manager. That way all of your questions won't be answered with "Let me go ask" or "I'll have to check".

The first time I bought from a dealer was a 454SS in '93 from a Honda dealership. The salesmen was really cool and the fact that he treated an 18 yr old like a regular customer paid off for him. I've seen that guy twice since then and he still remembers my name.

On the other hand I have had a salesman and finance manager tell me a bold face lie that turned into a very expensive nightmare.
