Hi all, new to the forum and the information here has been really great! Appreciate all the community and your collective knowledge.

I recently purchased a 2024 Sierra Denali 1500, but it only had the sport mirrors. I'm looking at towing a 20ft camper (~5k GVWR, so well within limits), and would like to swap out for tow mirrors. I found a set of fully featured (Blind spot indicator, 360 cameras, power fold, etc.) mirrors for what's listed as 2022/2023 (p/n 87864007 and 87864006) for a good price. I assume that if they work on those years, they will work on the 2024.

What I'm trying to figure out is:

Are these mirrors compatible with my truck?

Are the connections plug and play with what's already there, or will I need new harnesses or the wiring + RZY harness solution from Boost Auto?

What, if any, functionality will I lose using these?

Happy to provide any other information needed. Thank you!

As long as those are the GMC part # mirrors, then yes.  The chevy 1500s have a different mount because the doors are not the same.

They will "plug and play" but all of the lights on them won't work.  To get lighting functionality, I'd enquire with Boost.

The cameras I "think" might need re-calibration.  I've heard of the mirror mounted cameras working fine but the image is off somewhat.

They are listed as GMC, yeah.

I found the boost harness to get the lights working, i’ll pick that up and get it installed when the mirrors come in.

Looks like White Auto Media can reprogram the VPM for the towing mirrors, so I’ll look into that as well.

Thanks for the info, appreciate the response! I’ll update this thread as I make progress.

How did this go? Stock GM mirrors but boost wire? I am looking to do the same for my 2022 LTZ LTD. I have power fold, blind spot indicators and heat.

I'm trying to figure out Which of these mirrors is the best bet.  The parts departments are ZERO help that I have spoken to, and when I try to contact Eagle Auto Group about the mirrors posted above I get sent to a full voicemail box and no answer to my email.  I did speak to Boost and they confirmed that the harness will cover all of the lighting issues but they don't even know if the side cameras will work correctly due to the different mounting position.  I get that they would need to be cal'd but I can't find out if GMC will even do it or a cost for it.  Anymore information on this would be greatly appreciated.  Would be great to hear back from the author on what he experienced even if they Don't work correctly.  Thanks all!!

Can't use the HD mirrors.  Doors and mirror mounts are different.

Needs 1500 GMC mirrors, option code DQS version with blind spot and camera.

I spent 10 months trying to find the correct replacement mirrors for my 24 Denali.  GM has the passenger side but you won't find the drivers side mirror anywhere, or at least I couldn't.  I finally gave up and purchased the Boost Auto mirrors.  Yes I lost my side cameras but after a week without them it doesn't bug me anymore.  The other good thing about the boost mirror is that it isn't going to throw a code and you don't have to flash the ecm.  And I was able to add the blind spot heated directly from them. Install isn't too bad either.  They look great and don't vibrant like many of the other aftermarkets that are cheaper.   Just my story!!

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
