rtbrick Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 My drivers side heated mirror no longer heats/defrosts on my 2000 Z71. Am I just out of luck and the mirror is simply in need of replacing or is there some sort of fix for this?
redvett Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 That part is a dealer item only. Find someone that gets a discount and have them order it for you.
Import Hater Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 I have a passenger side mirror that doesn't heat anymore. Maybe we should trade so at least one of us has a totally working system. Rob
Ideeho Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Seems to be a common issue, I had my drivers' side go out and just got the truck out of the dealership after having the power steering pump replaced and midshaft fixed, only 800 miles left on the 39k warranty and the passenger mirror farted out on me...good thing they fix it quick. Not sure what the costs are otherwise.
hihosilver Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Hey Ideeho, why did your power steering pump have to be replaced? I'm just curious because I've been having problems with my power steering going out low rpms when I first start the truck and take off. Dealer can't find problem.
MCourson Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 On our 02 Tahoe the passenger side went out and then the drivers side blew up. You could littlerally here it when the drivers side went off. All it did though was crack the glass and leaked green oil all over the side of the Hoe. Luckily dealer fixed under warrantee.
rtbrick Posted February 15, 2004 Author Posted February 15, 2004 Boy, I was hoping it would be an easy fix. Maybe I'll try the salvage yard first as the new GM part is likely expensive. I guess I could run right into the same problem again, though.
