6.0L Vortec

While playing around with the GMC website I noticed that you can order the 6.0L with 1500 series Sierras. Anyone have this option?? The only options I can figure you have to have that I had were extended cab and 4x4 (not Z71). Anyone??

A mistake on the web form? From the site, no 6.0 mentioned:

The only 1500's that get the 6.0 that I am aware of were the C3, Sierra Denali, and the Silverado SS and they are all AWD.

You could get a 6.0 in the 1500HD but those aren't being made anymore.

if you ordered one RIGHT NOW before they fix it, than maybe they'd have to make you one legally. Pay something down ASAP. Even if you had to battle with them over it, if you got it, you'd have a friggin rare truck. The only 6.0 1/2 ton 1500 ever factory made. COULD be worth a bunch. If someone is wanting a truck right now, go for it. I mean, you could even bargin with them to take more(price) off if they refused to make the 6.0, just because thats what you ordered.

Good luck. If GMC has it Chevy would too. I bet if you go to the dealer and tried to order they would say its not available. It has to do with the CAFE/mileage. Any truck 8600GVW or higher can get bigger engines since they do not require fuel /CAFE mileage and are really work HD trucks. Even the quad steer is HD.

WOAH!!!! I didn't see the 6.0 on there anymore, but I DID build a 04 1500 fire red RCSB Z71 with dark pwerter cloth seats, and get this:

 

5.3L with 5-speed manual!!!!

when did this happed? I though you could only get the 4.8 and stick.

see, if I put down 15%, tlaked them down 2500, and did the 60 months deal, monthly payment would be 400. for a RCSB truck with manual transmission. Same as a 1 year old CPO BMW 330Ci.

 

Of course, there are probably about 8,000 more in reabtes they don't advertise only tell you about when your looking, from what I've heard.

If you do the "Build Your Own" on the GMC it will allow you to choose 1500 Ex Cab Light Duty with the 6.0L. I even tried it with the single cab and it didn't come up. That leads me to believe that is being offered with 4x4 trucks. I'm calling my local dealer first thing Monday.

 

I'm not really a manual tranny guy, but the 5.3L 5-spd is pretty cool

yeah these RCSB cab 5.3 auto guys are hitting around 15 flat, I bet the 5-speed could hit around 14.50. with some simple mod's you'd be in the 13's real quick.

The site will let you check 17" tires along with 16" wheels also. The software at the dealership applies the correct restrictions. I ordered my '04 Sierra in August and picked it up at the end of September. I emailed GM about the errors. They responded with the correct restrictions but it looks like they never corrected the site with the build page.
