Had a recall on 09/25/2024 for a software update, something called a serial data gateway module.  Had been having issues originally of my radio just turning channels, popping maps up in Android auto all by itself, those since the update has gone away.  The issue after this recall is now my dash lights and all the lights around the radio including the radio now just go very dim all by themselves, and anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes they finally brighten up on their own.  Anyone seeing anything like this?

Thank you.

Dash lights are tied to the ambient light sensor.  When the DRLs are on, the dash goes full daytime bright.  If the headlights come on during the day, the dash enters headlights on mode in where you can adjust the brightness with the +/- buttons above the headlight switch.

So if your headlights are in AUTO and the headlights come on, its setting the dash to whatever dimming you have it at night, and then if the light sensor sees more daylight it will put the DRLs back on and set the dash to daylight.  Also, even with the headlights manually turned on, it can adjust the dash as well.

So...I'm going with normal and its not from the update.

I have my lights on auto and when the dash lights go dim  I can turn them clear down from that point but not back to bright.  I have had this truck since February of 2024 though and haven't had this issue until after the recall fix.  I go in for a service call next month and will bring it up as well.

Thank you!

Full bright is light dependent during the day.  On an overcast day it won't give you full bright or will bounce in between.

Do you have anything on your dash like a dash mat, hat, papers, etc?  Otherwise it sounds like its operating normally.
