"Solid Smooth Ride (must specify)"

Hello.

I'm about to order a 1500.

The "VEHICLE DETAILS" sheet includes this phrase:

* Suspension Package, Solid Smooth Ride (must specify)

 

What are they asking for? What are the options there?

Most importantly, how do these choices affect the GVWR?

 

On the "SELECTED OPTIONS" page is listed the Z85 suspension package for $81.70. Is that what was specified?

 

I think "solid smooth ride" is Z83.

 

I need more information about exactly what I'm choosing in terms of the springs and the GVWR.

I don't think I'm allowed to list the link here but if you do a search for DEALERWORLD on google (www.eogld.gm.com... is the beginning of the link) you will come up with a GM link that shows all makes and models and their different options and option descriptions. For the 1500 the leaf springs are the same stiffness no matter what suspension but the shocks are different. the smooth ride is like a touring shock, trailering is a all purpose shock that can handle 1/2 ton loads and the Z71 shock is a bit stiffer than the trailering. Finally the manual adjust is adjustable from smooth ride to trailering but only available with 4WS.

The shocks will effect your GVWR the 6100 is RC 2wd and z83 the 6200 is EC with z83 or z85 and the 6400 is 4wd z85. If your going to do any hauling what so ever you should get the z85.

MONGREL.........GM is offering 2 special packages on certain full

sizers. They have been advertising them.

If your doing the GM buypower...build your own you select the pkg.

 

I have been shopping the lot and the web too.

I notice the DEAL is only on the 1/2s tho.

Gonna get a 04 3/4 soon.....prob GMC !

 

DARN! My OLD mind is going I forgot the names.

One is sight and sound pkg? Ya get XM, steering controls, BOSE?, etc.

 

The other is a work pkg....HD suspension, G-80, trailer tow, etc.

 

Quite the deal........

 

Thus the "must select smooth ride susp."

Or maybe with one of your options you can't get HD susp.
