Has anyone else had this code?

Active grille shutter 1 code.

DTC P059F - Active Grille Air Shutter 1 Performance

Could be a fitment issue with something in the front contacting the shutter.  PI here.  Older version but the latest revision PI5986C covers to 2025 - MC-10232822-9999.pdf

Could also be a bad shutter assembly.

If its a 2025 as your signature suggests, make an appointment and deal with it under warranty.

Yes. Went through a touchless car wash (lots of spray and limited drying) and drove the 2 miles home, air temp approx 10F. It stays outside since the boat occupies the stall next to the wife's car in the garage. Air temp stayed below freezing until the next day. Got several miles down the road and the engine light came on. Onstar gave me the code and the explanation. I noticed that the engine was not reaching its normal operating temp. Scheduled a dealer visit for a day later but since the engine warmed to normal operating temp on the way, I figured the grill shutter had thawed out at some point. Dealer checked it out, found nothing. Since I don't have a garage for it, I don't get it washed now until the air temps get above the mid 20s. Not ideal since they salt the snot out of the roads up here every time there's a 1/2" of snow.

I think you answered your own problem at 10F driving into a touchless car wash as the water froze the shutters open and couldn't close to bring up the engine temp till it thawed out and closed. I guess you know better next time.

My query was more to the fact that I previously owned 2024 elevation last year (best truck ever) and never had this issue parking outside in the winter, after car washes and what not. Was curious if others were noticing the active grill shutter sensitivity.

I did take it to the dealer, they cleaned the grill checked if it opened and closed and released my truck. Next day same code, took it back and did notice a “small” piece of ice. However the dealer said they would replace the actuator/motor and am currently waiting for a call.

however no code this morning, however not really snowing, just cold.

also what had me suspect was my bosses 2024 elevation had an engine light pop up at the exact same time mine did. From the GMC app diagnostics it looked like it could have been the same issue. However his dealer advised him it was a P0341 cam shaft sensors.

that’s the full scoop. Thanks for the reply’s. this ****** awesome.

Yes, I wasn't intending it to be a question, just a possibly helpful example of how I got the P059F code that might be of use to others encountering the same situation.
