Driver's seat went back but won't go back up!

I was relaxing in a parking lot and decided to get more comfortable. I pushed the seat to go back and when i was ready to leave it stayed there. It will recline but not ascend. Has anyone had this problem and know how to troubleshoot it? The panel on the  back of it comes off and allows me to see that when i press the button there is still activity. Just nothing turning to bring the seat back up. I can provide pics of needed.
