Tailgate recall dampener issues

Hi folks

Anyone else experience tailgate dampener immediately after the tailgate exterior touchpad switch assembly recall was repaired?

Our tailgate (2021 Sierra w/multipro) worked fine before we brought it in, and the day it came home from the dealer the tailgate started dropping hard.  It's only got 40k on it and is not a work truck - she's babied and in the garage most days!

Take it back to the dealer that replaced the switch. They must have removed the tailgate and reinstalled it wrong. There is a spring in the hinge, I believe
