2020 GMC3500 AT4 needing to replace DPF at 85K miles

Engine light popped on my 2020 GMC3500HD AT4 with 85K miles and no mods.  Pulled P20EE code on the scanner and brought it into the dealership.  Got the call 4 hours later that the DPF needs to be replaced for about $3500.  I purchased the full extended warranty from MBPI for $4300 from the dealership when I bought the truck new.  MBPI tells me that the DPF is not covered under the extended warranty as they do not cover the replacement of any of the exhaust.  Please read the details of the extended warranties before you purchase.  The team at MBPI has been horrible to work with through this entire ordeal.  Option 1, $3500 for new DPF.  Option 2, $6000 for a new ECU and some weight reduction of parts.  Option 3, Spend $90K and get a new truck.

Why do you need a new ECU for emissions removal. A computer tuning yes. 

 

 

If you want to stay stock, there are places to send the dpf out to to have it reconditioned and or cleaned.

The DD kit is only $4,500 for the delete stuff.
