So I bought a 2020 Sierra Denali a while back and I think the factory running boards have to go. The truck has been back to the shop to repair a bad running board motor, and I know it will happen again. They also act sort of funny and sometimes don’t retract but then upon opening the door, they retract and immediately re-extend. I think I’d like to just remove them and replace them with stationary running boards. Does anyone have experience doing that or is there a better-working powered replacement option with actual grease points that will also work with the gmc sensors and buttons installed in the truck from the factory?
