Anybody think that HB2798 will get shot down? I kinda think it will. But if in fact it does pass. Im sure it will not be a negative impact to the state. The house voted 78-43 in favor of the bill and its now on to senate. Sebilius has said she will veto it. Heres a quote:

I will veto the measure because I believe that it's passage will make Kansas less safe.

Since that is the opposite of demonstrated results in the 46 states that do allow concealed carry, she must feel that the people of Kansas are a wilder and less law abiding breed, of lesser character than the residents of all of these other states. She must also have serious doubts about the judgment of, and little respect for, the substantial majority of the Kansas legislators that voted to pass the measure. I think that this sentiment definitely needs to be conveyed to Gov. Sebelius and the Kansas legislators that still must vote on this measure.

We'll see what happens!!

Well, I just noticed this. Not that I don't care about it CCW, but I kind of forgot about this forum. lol I believe the bill will get passed and Sebilius will veto it no matter how it is worded, or what kind of provisions are added.

I most certainly agree with your last paragraph, in what her quotes seem to convey about her opinions about the residents of Kansas as well as the legislators. I already e-mailed my legislators letting them know my opinion, guess maybe one to the governor is in line as well....

I went ahead and sent a brief message to every Kansas Senator. I have already gotten quite a few responses. Some real typed messages and some automated responses. If it came down to a majority vote in favor of a CCW bill in Kansas, I really dont think Sebilius coulde veto it. I would hope she would try to avoid the embarassment of firing down a majority vote by the Kansas Senate. Hell, I dont know what will happen. Only time will tell!

Well you have my support. Of course from Nevada that don't do y'all much good, but rest assured you have my full support. Hopefully your elected officials realize that it is your RIGHT to have the ability to defend yourselves, your loved ones, and your property.

Good luck and godspeed. :confused::sleep:

Mrs. Kathleen (Nazi) Sebelius vetoed Kansas's Right To Carry bill today. Supposedly Rep. Candy Ruff of Leavenworth is looking to consider a veto-override. When election time rolls around for Kansas, DO NOT VOTE FOR SEBELIUS!!! I didnt vote for her in the first place. If Tim Shallenburger was elected to office, he would have signed the CCW bill the minute it hit his desk! The Governor has made a serious political mistake. Sebelius has aroused the ire of both conservative Republicans and Democrats. The Pro 2A people in Kansas will do their best to see that Sebelius is defeated in November and it can be done! By the way, the last Kansas governor was a RHINO (Republican in name only) Bill (Bleeding Heart) Graves. It is time for the Republican wing of the Republican party to elect someone who shares conservative values like the right to keep and bear arms and the right to self-defense!

I'm not from Kansas, but I do travel to and through Kansas a few times a year. I'm all for Kansas CCW and reciprocity with Colorado. Looking at a map of CCW states, Kansas is sticking out like a sore thumb. When is Sebelius up for re-election? When do you think the CCW initiative will come up again? It was great to see the Missouri legislature override the veto there -- about time!

Well, a similar bill has come up again. Passed the house and senate very comfortably. Sebelius is expected to veto it again. If she does, I think it can be overridden. What think you guys?

I heard something about this on the radio recently, but they didn't explain the whole issue. Can anyone tell me what the related laws are?

Obviously Kansas is trying to pass a law allowing concealed weapons. Are you not allowed to carry at all?

Concealed carry is illegal. The legality of open carry would depend on county/city laws.

As expected, Gov. Sebelius did veto the bill. However last night the senate voted to override the veto, as did the house just hours ago. Effective July 1, Kansans will be able to obtain concealed carry permits. :chevy::cadillac::cheers:

This issue has been avoided way too long..............I feel that every person should have the right to protect their family with any means necessary...........We just need to go back to the "Old-West" days, and take care of the bad-guys and ride off into the sunset......:cheers:

    • Of course refrain from political debate but I myself have very dismal hope for what is all going on up here every where we turn so I nodded my head when I saw this joke.
    • I'm looking at carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand and lumbar fusion.
    • While waiting for parts I have been working on installing the AC compressor, new accumulator, and orifice tube. Also changed out the high side ball valve (original). The orifice tube that was in there wasn't too bad. Slightly dirty, a little bit of junk, but not blocked. Glad I changed it out.   The accumulator, which should have been a 5 minute job, may have just burned $50. Put some PAG in it, wrote the date and mileage on the side, fresh o-rings and gooey'd up the threads and rings with Nylog. Got everything connected and snugged and was going to vacuum down the system, and....   My manifold gauge won't fit on the port. It's not an R12 service port. It LOOKS like an R134 service port but the diameter is a hair too large. There's a sticker on the accumulator that says it's designed to be used with R12 and R134a systems only. So it's not R1234yf. Even if I reduced the diameter slightly with a file, the shoulder on the port is too large so the quick-connect valve won't lock on. I'm stumped. It's going back, and 50/50 on if they'll give me a refund.   Also, I did a fuel pressure test.... Key on, the gauge spikes to about 60psi and quickly bleeds off, like 2psi per second. The fuel isn't going into the plenum, no smell, starts fine, so I'm guessing there's a bad check valve in the pump and the fuel is just draining back into the tank. oh, hell. But, it shouldn't be a problem, pump primes just fine and the truck starts right up. It just means I can't really ever use fuel pressure to verify a leak at the injector or intake.
    • Got this yesterday out of nowhere. Truck is a 25',6.6 gasser with 8k miles.  Only semi anomaly is that the truck had been sitting, uncranked for 6 days. Elec Stability Control showed immediately upon cranking, not while driving. No drivability issues, just the message. Battery didn't seem to be weak when cranking over.  I drove it, killed it, let it sit a few hrs with no avail.  Truck is 100% stock. No damage.
    • This can be done.  It is not cheap and requires an instrument cluster swap with custom programming, new steering wheel with the controls on it, and a special jumper harness.   The cluster upgrade - 12.3” Digital Cluster Upgrade – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The wheel upgrade - Steering Wheel Upgrade Kit – 2022.5–2026 Silverado / Sierra (T1 Refresh Pickup) - WAMS   The column harness upgrade - 2019 - 2026 Silverado / Sierra: Steering Wheel LIN Bus Harness - Harness Dr. - DIY Done Right     The problem with doing all of this?  You pretty much can't have any programming done to your truck that involves the cluster ever again.  The dealer won't be able to program the cluster as GM's system will only pull data for the cluster the truck came with.  So it would be advised also to turn off over the air updates.   TLDR;  Should have bought an LT double cab?  You'd have a power seat, the wheel controls, the cluster, all things that you've been seeking in your various posts so far about your new WT regular cab.
