Door locks

The door locks on the inside of my 95 sierra only work for the passenger side door and will not lock the drivers i have to do that manualy but they work fine on the passenger side. also remote lock and unlock only works on the passenger side. i'm not quite sure what exactly is wrong with it.

if u know what it could be..please tell me.

What do you mean by REMOTE ? Do you have an aftermrket alarm?

 

when you use the button on the pass door,do both door lock motors operate?

 

Could check 4 a broken wire in the harness that runs thru the rubber sleeve to the drivers door....just a guess

A 95 could have factory keyless entry not necessarily aftermarket.

A few things could be wrong. The driver's lock actuator could be busted or the rod ould be knocked off. Also you could have a wiring problem. Most likely the actuator or rod though, pretty common. Also check all the lock linkage on that side to make sure it isn't binding somewhere. Lube with white lithium if it is.

Sounds the like standard problem. ..

 

Driver door opens and closes far more oft than pass side.

 

Harness to freakin everything goes to the driver side, between the door and the, ya, the hinge. It could well be worn there. Let me know it i'm right. No, the harness cover won't show wear. The wires rub inside it.

It's not the harness at the door boot or neither side would be working. If it is the wiring, which I doubt, it would be between the driver's switch and the actuator.

It's not the harness at the door boot or neither side would be working. If it is the wiring, which I doubt, it would be between the driver's switch and the actuator.

uh, no.

 

There can be only one wire broken in the sleeve, causing only one device not to operate. Say, for instance.... The one that broke in mine that caused just the driver door power lock not to operate
