Need 5.3 tahoe muffler inlet outlet diameter/specs

I am replacing my stock muffler on my 2002 tahoe 5.3 with a flowmaster 50series muffler. I need to know the stock muffler inlet/outlet diameters as well as the correct inlet/outlet configuration- single in, dual out?????

I am not running duals. I want stock muffler tip placement out the side.

thanx

stock pipes are 2.75 in and out. the flowmaster is a 3" in and out. I used my stock pipes to install my flowmaster50suv. It sounds pretty sweet. I put a 4" tip on the end for show.

btw, that is a single in and out configuration...

check out this link for some sound clips... :D

(I'm a mod and technitian on the site above).

At least someone actually knows to look lol.

The clip of the 4.8 ltr w/ 50 series was made by the guy when he first had the exhaust installed, still not totally "broken in". Good choice on that though!

I'd say go Borla, my personal fav. on the 5.3;s :D

Don't forget about Magnaflow.

As a former die-hard Flowmaster fan, I still gotta try and convert some more people... lol.

See the link in my sig. for some sound clips..

By the way, that exhaust sound clips site is awesome! :D

J/w, why?

In my opinion, it's just a great sounding exhaust for the 5.3's. I'm an avid flowmaster fan, an avid Magnaflow fan, and an avid fan of Spin Tech and Borla too.

On the 5.3's, Borla produces a sweet, deep, but still somewhat mellow exhaust note. I have a few friends with this system, and I've heard trucks with Borla, and they sound awesome! My best friend's dad has a Borla si/do on his 03 yukon, and that was when I fell in love with it. A smooth, deep mellow note all through the rpm ranges, no roughness or tinnyness, inside the cab really wasn't bad at all, to my suprise. Sonya Joe's wife didn't like it, but they have a 4 yr old too. I've heard people say Borla drones, but I have yet to hear it drone.

A straight thru muffler also gives you the best performance gains too,. Magnaflow is similar to Borla, but just a tad bit deeper.

If it was my truck, I'd do Borla, since like I said, in MY opinion, it's the best sounding 5.3 exhaust you can get. It all depends on preference.

I'm a fan of mostly all main name manufacturers for mufflers, like companies that specialize simply in exhaust. I like different mufflers on different vehicles, but like I said, it's preference. If someone wants Flowmaster, I'll help out. Same case scenario w/ other mufflers.

Hope I helped some with this random babbling lol
