serpentine belt squeal

I own a 97 Blazer. The belt squeals after start-up and is louder when the outside air is damp or on rainy days. I replaced the stocker @ 40k because of this prob. The squeal stopped for a while but has returned. I have heard other 4.3 Blazers with the same prob. Does anyone know of a belt that resists squealling?

What kind of belt did you buy to replace it. Also have you checked the idler pulley to make sure that is not what is causing the squeal?

 

For a good belt, I reccomend the Goodyear Gatorbacks. I've used them in the past and they have always been very quiet.

Thanks Shadowfax, replaced it with a stock replacement from AutoZone. It is definately the belt as the squeal stopped for some 10k miles. It seems to build up a glaze on the backside. I thought maybe someone might know of style belt that resists squealling. Ill look into the Goodyear though, thanks again
