Air Filtration Systems

Needing a new Air filter and I am considering a new set up. I have researched the Volant and the K&N systems.

 

I think both will be fine, and I do prefer the idea behind the Volant system, but here is my question: Why couldn't you put a stock (square) K&N filter in your existing air box and replace the tube that goes from the air box to the TB? Wouldn't you acheive the same thing as the Volant System is?

 

Is there a company that does this? I have heard of one, and I hate to mention names, but I was told the pipe was thin and many times broke upon installation, especially if you got any color than black.

 

Advice anyone?

You could do that. After 4 K&N FIPK on my last 4 Suburbans I purchased a Votant for my Escalade, I am very pleased with the fit and finish, and with the Volant because it's enclosed you do not get that loud t-body noise.

There's couple of place on the internet.

 

Here's one Speedy performance parts I think they have free shipping.

 

I bought mine directly from manufacturer for $340, but I think they are only doing busines through distributers.

 

The price might seem a bit much, but I say so what it's a powder coated metal tube not cheap plastic for just about the same price.
