vibration while braking

Recommended Posts

on a 98 K1500, 120k all original suspension. First thought would be the rotors (original turned once 40k ago) but they are smooth as glass, pads (ceramic type) look good as well. rotated the tires to no avail. no other vibrations except while stopping.

I have a little movement in the front wheels side to side (I know they all have a little but how much is too much?) none top to bottom. Any ideas?

Thanks

You could probably use an alignment. You may have too much camber, caster and or toe in your tires. Those can all contribute to making a vibration in your braking as well as pulling or wander. When you brake, the tire wants to "bend" in somewhat due to the toe/camber and the truck puts a lot of pressure on it. Just my 2 cents.
