Can I swap the regular cluster with the tach, speedo, oil, temp, fuel, etc to the cluster that has the tranny temp in it as well, or is it more involved?

some other clusters will cause seatbelt light to stay on. check before you buy the place you get it from may no take returns. there is a place in new york that can reprogram your miles and idle hours for a small fee, with minimal down time.

so THIS one will plug right up, even though I dont have the small screen above the trans temp?    Will it actually function?

No that one won't work. You have a different type of "Driver Information Center" (DIC) in the '03 and '04 trucks.

I don't really understand why your 2500HD doesn't already have a tranny temp gage. I thought that it was standard on the heavier trucks...

That's the old (pre-03) dash cluster. Notice that there isn't any DIC in there.

I would be surprised if that works. You can always buy it and try it I guess (?)

So what do I need to get to add the tranny temp?

Which cluster am I looking for so I dont buy the wrong one?

Mine has a DIC I thought?

The 2004 cluster should work.

But first...

Are you looking for a cluster for the HD GMC in your signature?

Is your truck an automatic?

I can't give you a guarantee, but the '04 cluster should work...

On the 1/2 ton trucks (99-02) they were buying HD clusters to get the tranny temp gage and it was plug and play...

I looked at the Chevy website and did the virtual 360* tour of the cab, and saw that it had a tranny temp gage. Apearantly GM is not putting that cluster in all their HD trucks for '04... :P

This is an oldie....

Would the clusters otu of the new silverado SS work in the 04 sierra 2500 hd's ? I dont have the super dooper DIC, just reg hour, odo, and trip meters.

I'd love to get one of these.
