Flip out in-dash monitor hitting shifter in NBS

Recommended Posts

On the NBS Chevy/GMC trucks and SUV's an in-dash flip out monitor will hit the factory shifter when it is in park. I remember seeing a post on some forum somewhere, where there is a place you can send your current shifter, and they'll send you one that's been bent a few degrees to compensate for the flip out monitor.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or suggest any other alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

I had heard that you can do it.....but I decided to just leave the monitor in manual and just retract it or bring it out when the shifter is not in park. I just leave it out for the most part unless I am parking the truck somewhere I don't want it to be obvoius. After I got used to it, its no big deal.

Just a thought, you might be able to remove the shifter and heat it SLOWLY and bend the last bend out a little bit. I'd make sure to remove any wiring from the inside also. I dunno if it will work, might wanna try and get one from a junk yard or something to practice on.

I had an '02 2500HD and I installed an Eclipse AV-8022. I had to pull the shifter back to either retract or open the monitor. I removed the shift lever and bent it in a vise. You might want to get a junkyard piece just in case.
