88 S-10 2.5

I need to get some more power out of my S-10. Are there any good bolt-ons. I already have a Jet chip and a shift kit for my 700R-4. What about heads? Does anybody make heads for this motor. Any Ideas or suggestions would be great.

Hmm, i'm sure they make headers.

I'd recommed a few things. Intake and exaust are the most easy ways to get more power. Next time you need a new air filter, get a K&N. The higher price is offset by the fact that you'll never have to buy another air filter again.

Headers would get you another 20hp easy. An exaust would net another 10 or so hp.

Another 40 hp is very attainable with just intake exaust mods.

That's going to be tough seeing as how the 2.5 was made more for economy than performance.Zane has given you some pointers but you may want to check s-series.org as I am sure that they know all the tricks.

I've got the 2.5 4 cylinder also. I have put on a K&N air filter, also I have looked into new intake manifold, and header for it. I would suggest for more horsepower to just drop in a V-6 or for the ultimate hop-up a V-8. Get a little hotter burning spark plug also. that might help. :yingyang:

You're not going to get much out of the Iron Duke "Tech4" motor.  It was built for economy and durability.  Although a nice shot of nitrous would work.  

 

Anway, dropping in a 4.3L V6 would seem like driving a muscle car.
