"Drop Shop" experts please check in

vehicle:

 

1995 c1500 x-cab

 

drop:

front 5" (spindles / springs)

rear 7" (flip kit with c-sections)

 

question:

 

1. drive shaft length - had the trannyu rebuilt 2 years ago and it is now bad again - so it's off the tranny shop - AND the dirveshaft shop - question is - how much should i shorten the drive shaft to accomodate for the significant drop?

1/4"? 1/2"? 3/4? 1"?

the reason i am needing to shorten it is that the transmission shop said there was NO play in the driveshaft after rebuilding it and there needed to be a little play!

so????????

 

 

2. pinion angle - upon lowering the truck i was told the proper way to install the shims to get the correct pinion angle - but i think that the angle might not be correct

 

which way do the shims go in? i.e. does the pointy end point towards the back or the front????
