4.3L V6 Mileage Info...

Just got back from a trip from WV to Jacksonville, FL.  Tracked the mileage in our 2001 S10 Trailblazer and thought I would share it with everyone.

Total mileage was 1971 miles and the mileage according to the trip computer on the vehicle was 20.4 mpg.  Average speed was 59.9 mph.  85% of the miles were interstate at speeds from 60 to 75 mph.  Not too bad, in my opinion.

This is the second vehicle I've owned with the 4.3L and I like this engine.  It's not the most powerful, but it has nice low rpm torque and has been problem free in both Blazers!

What i noticed since driving my moms 4.3 and my 5.3 as of late (driving her around cause she hurt her back and cant get in my truck) is the 4.3 is a dog uphill.  My 5.3 loves hills and gets stronger going uphill while the 4.3 looses it ooomp.

Also the older generation 4.3's like in my dads S-10 seems to have alot more power.  Lots of get up and go and more power uphill.
