I have a 2003 chevy silverado 1500 reg. cab short bed and i'm lookin to put a 2/4" drop on it. i was wondering if spindles are a better in the front or just springs. Also, which company do you prefere? thanks

You can use spindles. Just DO NOT use Belltechs! They cut your turnng radius down to nothing. Also stay away from AIM/ChassisTech, they are C R A P!!!! DJM, Western Chassis, McCaughys and Belltech all make great 2" drop coils. McCaughys does make 2" spindles. Id recommend DJM's 2" lower control arms that way you can retain the stock coils. On the rear you can go with 2" shackles and 2" hangers for a total 4" drop in the rear. Bottoming out may become and ever present problem so a good set of shocks is a must. Unless you want to c-notch the frame, which will eliminate the bottoming out altogether. Unless you go lower. There is a company out there called Hotchkis that has a 2/4 drop kit that comprises of their stiff 2" coils and 4" rear leafs. Now this kit really is not for the fain of heart. It is a rough riding kit in my opinion! Teamed with their sway bars makes for a road hugging truck!! The Hotchkis kit is more expensive than a coil, shackle/hanger drop. It depends on what you are looking to attain with the drop and how much you want to spend. Do you want looks or performance from the drop components?

Thats my take on things.

The best ride nod has to go the the DJM opitons. Utilizing the DJM 2" lower control arms. Keeps near stock suspesnion geometry. As for a complete Belltech 2/4, best place to fnd a kit is in say SportTruck magazine. The ads in there usually advertise complete kits. Otherwise websites sell individual components for drops. Coils are seperate and shackles/hangers come as a kit. DJM does sell the shackles seperate from the hangers.
