when its over, its over, and now its all over

Graduated yesterday. They had a school graduation party, 10PM-5 AM(if you attended you get to skip school the next day. They gave out DVD players(2-3 dozen), dorm fridges(8-10), microwaves(5-10), an Xbox, 4 laptops and a car, portible DVD players, TV/DVD combo's, TV's, plus a ton of other stuff(over 600 prizes in all, for my graduating class of over 900).

I won a Quesdilla maker. :D Strangely enough, my prize got more recognition that most! "Quesadilla maker? SWEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!"

Also, they had two money machines. I got in line behind 8 or so people. I left the line one hour later when I was behind 16(yup, you read that right) people. I technically have 2 days of school left, but I'm probably only going to one.

on to phase two.........

oh yeah, one of the best parts of the ceremony at graduation. The Valordictorian(sp?), an old friend actually, had a nice comparo during his speech

"......We are at an end. And end's can be happy, like the last episode of Friend's. It can be sad. Like the last episode of Sienfield. Or it can be weird, like the last episode of Frasier"

maybe you had to be there?

Some of the best advice I got after I graduated was, do not screw up the first year of college. Even just after the first year I have friends having to play catch up. Im just glad its not me.

LOL my advice for college would be the exact opposite....if you're gonna screw up, do it your freshman year....people expect it and your somewhat allowed.

My other advice....college is a lot more than grades......once you graduate and get your first job, no one will ever ask what your GPA was (hell they didn't even ask for my first job)....and make friends with your RA.....

Congrats and best wishes :D from someone who did the same more years ago than I care to (or can :D ) remember. TMF6902's second bit of advice is very true. Grades are important, but more important is learning how to make friends and live with people who are difficult to live with (you'll get plenty of the former in the dorm and the latter from the profs in the classroom  ). So please enjoy your college years. For me they were the best years of my life, and hopefully they will be for you too.

Peace and Cool-ness,

Yes, and make sure you don't have a dirty hippie for a roommate. I had one, he smelled horrible. I moved out of that dorm mid-first semester. But the dorms are great places to make friends, but watch out for the drama and the germs. I have never been more annoyed with people in the dorms because there was always some drama going on. Also, I was always sick until I moved out of the dorms. Healthy as a horse now. Have fun at college or wherever your travels may take you :D

oh yeah, get your meningitis shot too

the symptoms come on like a flu, so you tend to stay in bed, but by the time you figure out it's not flu, it's too late!

yeah, but It looks like I'm satying home and attending a community College for the first two years(unless I make a bunch of money out of no where this summer).

BUT, the best part of that is I already have enough saved up for next years car insurance and my first years tuition, so I get to play with the Bimmer more, and will be very close to not having much debt when I switch to another college
