I installed the PIII a few months ago. I saw a small increase in power and throttle response, but got alot of "pinging" from the engine. Did some research and installed a 160 degree thermostat. Pinging was still there. So I uninstalled the program. Just got bigger tires and want to adjust the computer. Should I put the PIII back on and live with the pinging or install something else? Or maybe did I do something wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to just adjust for the larger tires

and firm up the shifts with out down loading their

" power tune ". I had the Hypertech 3 installed in

my last truck a 99 nbs w/ 6.0. It made it shift better

and i corrected the speedo for the larger tires.

However there was very little as far as more power.

I didnt have any pinging before or after.

I put a westers pcm in a while ago, huge improvement

in power,shifting etc. The only way to go for me.

To bad i wasted the money on the hp3. Hope you

can make it work better.
