I'm planning on doing some head work and putting larger springs into a vortec 350. I'm just wondering how you go about compressing the springs w/o a specific spring compressing tool? Is it tough to do, and tricks to doing it? The springs i'll be putting in have a installed seat pressure of about 110-120lbs.

thanks

NOt gonna do it without one. Just go to Sears or NAPA and get a tool. They are only $10 or so. Autozone will rent tools out as well.

I just put my cam in saturday. I used a tool I got from Oreillys that I modified a bit. Worked ok. Hooked up shop air to the cylinder and set up the tool. Took me like an hour and a half to do the springs. Total swap took 7 hours. Ill try and get a picture of my compressor and post it
