2004 used stereo locked out

Help!!! I bought a 2004 oem cd, cass. am-fm on an on-line auction. I can't get her fired up and I don't have the V.I.N. from the original truck it came from!! Is this a lost cause??? Chev-Delphi

You do not need the VIN from the original truck the radio came from. The radio communicates with the ECM and verifies the VIN stored in it is the same as that stored in the trucks ECM.

 

You need to take the truck and radio to a dealer, or maybe a good radio installer and have the radio flashed (programmed) with your trucks VIN.
