Here is what I found: (of course there is also some pictures that I can't post here)

 

Heater Core Replacement

Removal Procedure

Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.

Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

Remove the heater/vent module.

Remove the heater core cover screws.

 

 

 

Remove the heater core cover.

 

 

 

Remove the heater core.

Installation Procedure

 

 

 

 

Install the heater core.

 

 

 

Install the heater core cover.

 

Notice

Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

 

 

Install heater core cover screws. Tighten

Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

 

Install the heater/vent module.

Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.

 

 

 

It doesn't really show or talk about it but from the picture it does look like the dash has to come off. I've removed the cover before and it is pretty simple.
